The Dyson bladeless fan is the most disappointing appliance I have ever owned. I purchased one a miniature over a year ago and used it for about a week, Trying as hard as I could to by comparison it. In the end, there were no redeeming qualities that could by comparison the exorbitant price tag.
It was noisy, inefficient and flimsy. I idea too, that it would be nice to have with kids; but it is so brittle that a miniature bump would render it a useless pile of plastic shards. There is not "space age" technology, there are no benefits to this fan. There is still a fan assembly, in the base, that is merely piped through a slit. I can only dream that, if you coming it from an efficiency stand point, it is likely a great waste of electricity, as well.
After a week, I returned it and bought a top of the line Vornado for a third of the price. It doesn't oscillate, but it Works, and works very well.
The Dyson fan is undeniably nice looking, and Looks like a technological advancement but, quite frankly, the Rube Goldberg of air movers.
